My name is Joey Allen, and I am a freelance photographer based in Henderson, NV. I've been working as a photographer for about 3 years now, and I enjoy every minute of it. I specialize in Weddings, Events, Portraiture, and product and property photography. I have shot weddings and events in various resorts, clubhouses and wedding venues throughout Las Vegas (my favorite thus far has been The Grove), including several along the Las Vegas Strip.

My interest in photography first led me to work as a portrait and event photographer for families and businesses, and I also branched out to product and property photography. My most recent move has been to Wedding photography, which has to be one of the most energy-filled occasions I've ever been involved in, and I consider myself fortunate to be able to provide the bride & groom with quality photos of their special day. In the last year (late 2007 thru 2008) I have photographed more than 20 weddings, including 8 in October, definitely my busiest wedding month.

My Style:
I'm always trying to improve my creative eye and work on composition and lighting. I enjoy photojournalism, details shots, and anything that lets me experiment with new ideas. I also do plenty of formals and posed shots, and if the bride or groom provides me with examples of shots they prefer, it helps me understand what type of photos they like best.

Camera Equipment & Processing Software:
I currently use a Canon EOS 40D and 20D with Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6, Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L, Canon 85mm f/1.8 and Canon 135mm f/2L lenses for my work, with 580EX speedlite and several off-camera flashes, as well as portable studio equipment. I have been looking to get a full frame Canon 5D for a long time - easily one of the best dSLRs ever made for wedding photography.

I have been using Photoshop for over ten years, and Lightroom for almost two. I use them both for post processing the photos I take. I typically do at least minimal post processing on all photos because I want to make sure the photos come out well when printed.
